Together We Achieve More

School Meals and After School Clubs

School meals promote good habits in healthy eating and contribute to a positive lifestyle for our children.  They currently cost £2.30 and are cooked on the premises.  They are of a high standard and sample menus are sent home and are available to collect in school.  Meals can be purchased from the Canteen on a weekly or daily basis.

All P1 – P3 pupils are now entitled to a free school meal.

Parents who are receiving Income Support or Income Based Job Seekers Allowance are entitled to apply for free school meals for their children in P4 – P7.  The appropriate forms are available from the school office.

Facilities are available for children to eat packed lunches in school.  It should be noted however that under no circumstances should fizzy drinks, glass bottles, drinks cans or hot liquids be brought to school – for obvious safety reasons.

All Highland Primary Schools have been awarded the bronze Food for Life Catering Mark, for more information on school meals and to view school meal menus please visit – www.highland.gov.uk

Breakfast Club/Homework Club

The Breakfast Club is open for all pupils between 8.30 – 9.00 a.m. every morning.  Pupils can buy hot chocolate, milk, juice, toast, fruit or cereal.  This session, all items cost 50p, or 3 items for £1.  There is the opportunity for children to complete homework or practise reading, counting, writing etc.

After School Club

There is an After School Club in the Janitors House.  This is not run by the school, but by CALA Out of School Care.  Further details are available from the Senior Playworker on 07775727167

Playground Supervision

Our Pupil Support Assistants (PSA’s) are on duty at morning interval and lunchtime to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children in the playground.  Please note that the playground is not supervised before 9am in the morning.   Our Breakfast Club is open from 8.30 – 9.00 a.m.

Playtime Snacks

Children are encouraged to bring a snack for their mid-morning.  We are a Health Promoting School so we do encourage the children to bring in a healthy option where possible!

Extra Curricular Activities

The range of extra curricular activities on offer at any one time depends on the expertise and availability of staff/parent leaders.  unfortunately, at the moment we are unable these due to Covid but we hope to get things started again as soon as we can.
